[NORTHAMPTONSHIRE COMMUNITY MESSAGING - Northamptonshire West - 16.12.09 - WB/CMS/1665/09 - WN12 - BURGLARY]

This is a message form Northamptonshire West Police to all residents in the Central area of Northampton Town Centre.

Please be aware that a property in Melbourne Walk was broken in to sometime between 04:20 and 19:10 Tuesday 15 December. In this incident the offenders entered the property through an insecure window at the rear. Once inside the offenders removed a number of electrical items including a games console and laptop were stolen.

Residents are reminded to securely lock all doors and windows when not in use, even for the shortest period of time. Please remain vigilant, if you see anything suspicious, or anything that concerns you please report using the dedicated Watch number, alternatively contact Northamptonshire West Police or Crimestoppers quoting reference below.

Drugs In Our Community

As you know, drugs are NEVER something we should turn our backs on. Drugs can be addictive, even cannabis and many people commit crime in order to get the cash to pay for drugs. There is also the side issue of dirty needles being left lying around the Semilong Community, as what happened recently when some were found outside Castle School.

For that reason, if you know anything about drugs in our community, please let the police know, let us know, or tell Crimestoppers.

This is an issue which must be tackled.
