This is a message from Northamptonshire West Police to all residents living in Northampton Central of four incidents of theft from vehicles.
A van parked in St Michaels Avenue was broken in to between 19.00 Friday 16 October and 12.00 Sunday 18 October. The driver's side window was smashed in order to open the door and gain access. The steering column had been interfered with and property stolen from within.
In Melbourne Walk, Cromwell Street the driver's side window was smashed around 18.00 Saturday 17 October and 10.00 Sunday 18 October. Wires were ripped out from under the bonnet although no damage to the ignition and nothing taken.
Access to a vehicle by unknown means occurred around 14.30 Thursday 15 October and 11.30 Friday 16 October In Edith Street - items were stolen.
On Friday 16 October between 18.45 and 22.20 Friday 16 October the passenger side wing mirror was removed from a vehicle parked in Swann Street - no entry gained
Residents are reminded to secure all vehicles when not in use, even for the shortest periods of time. Please remove valuables rather than hide them in the boot or glove box, activate alarm systems where fitted and use steering locks. If you are able to remove the front panel of vehicle stereos please do so when you leave the vehicle unattended.
