This is a message from Northamptonshire West Police to all residents in the Northampton area.
On Saturday 22 August 2009 a distraction burglary occurred on Kinglsey Road, Northampton, whereby a middle aged lady and her elderly mother were the victims of a conman who stated that their neighbour's guttering needed fixing and the problem would spread to their address. The male said it would cost £400.00 to repair and he needed a £100.00 deposit. The ladies paid the £100.00 and the male disappeared and has not been seen since.
The male was described as white, aged 20-30 years, 6ft tall, stocky build with short dark brown wavy hair. He appeared very tanned with a chubby face and was wearing a navy blue v neck t shirt with a small white logo on the chest, dark trousers and carrying a little black book which he referred to as a receipt book.
The male was also driving a white Iveco Daly van YK 55 CSU.
