[NORTHAMPTONSHIRE COMMUNITY MESSAGING - Northamptonshire West - 17.08.09 - WB/CMS/545/09 - WN11 + WN12]

This is a message from Northamptonshire West Police to residents in Northampton Town Centre.

Please be aware of two incidents that occurred in your area over the weekend.

St James Park Road - Offenders entered a secure garage by forcing the front door panel, they then stole a pedal cycle.

Hunter Street - Sometime between 22:00 Friday 14 August and 08:20 Sunday 15 August offenders broke in to a vehicle by smashing the rear window, reached in and removed the car stereo and searched the glove box.

Residents are reminded to secure all vehicles when not in use, even for the shortest periods of time. Please remove valuables rather than hide them in the boot or glove box, activate alarm systems where fitted and use steering locks.

Drugs In Our Community

As you know, drugs are NEVER something we should turn our backs on. Drugs can be addictive, even cannabis and many people commit crime in order to get the cash to pay for drugs. There is also the side issue of dirty needles being left lying around the Semilong Community, as what happened recently when some were found outside Castle School.

For that reason, if you know anything about drugs in our community, please let the police know, let us know, or tell Crimestoppers.

This is an issue which must be tackled.
