[NORTHAMPTONSHIRE COMMUNITY MESSAGING - Northamptonshire West - 05.08.09 WB/CMS/466/09 - WN12 +11]

This is a message from Northamptonshire West Police to all residents in Northampton Town Centre.

Please be aware that a property in Colwyn Road was broken in to at around 18:00 on Tuesday 4 August. The offenders entered the property while the resident was working on a vehicle and left the front door open. A mountain bike was stolen.

Residents are reminded to secure all doors and windows to your home even when not in use for the shortest period of time.

In a separate incident a vehicle in Chalk Lane was broken in to sometime between 17:30 and 22:00 on Monday 3 August. The offenders gained access to the vehicle through the passenger side front window. The glove box was searched and items were removed from the vehicle.

Residents are reminded to securely lock all vehicles when left unattended, make sure all valuables are removed from the vehicle and use steering locks and alarm systems where fitted.
