[NORTHAMPTONSHIRE COMMUNITY MESSAGING - Northamptonshire West - 17.07.09 WB/CMS/351/09 - WN12]

This is a message from Northamptonshire West Police to all residents in Northampton town Centre.

Please be aware that a property in St Edmunds Street was broken in to at around midnight on Thursday 16 July. In this case the offender was found by the owner in the kitchen. The suspect ran off towards the Wellingborough Road, and no property was stolen.

Residents are reminded to take extra care during warm weather to close and securely lock doors and windows and to make sure all keys are kept in a hidden, but safe and easily accessibly to you in an emergency.

Drugs In Our Community

As you know, drugs are NEVER something we should turn our backs on. Drugs can be addictive, even cannabis and many people commit crime in order to get the cash to pay for drugs. There is also the side issue of dirty needles being left lying around the Semilong Community, as what happened recently when some were found outside Castle School.

For that reason, if you know anything about drugs in our community, please let the police know, let us know, or tell Crimestoppers.

This is an issue which must be tackled.
